Halloween Music, anyone?

I know I only have mere moments to get this in before it's no longer timely, so I'll just rush through a quick list of what I feel to be excellent Halloween music. Top of the list is:
  1. 1. Tom Waits, Bone Machine. This whole album is classic Halloween music in mood and tone. Classics such as "Earth Died Screaming", "Dirt In The Ground", and "Murder In The Red Barn" are perfect for making any mood instantly spooky. And besides, it has the original "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" on it, which may not scream out Halloween, but is an excellent song anyways.
  2. The Cure, "Lullaby".
  3. Joy Division, "Dead Souls". Also, the excellent Nine Inch Nails cover of this.
  4. Dave Edmunds, "Creature From The Black Lagoon" Cliched, I realize, but still great for the day.
  5. Warren Zevon, "Werewolves Of London". See note for #4.
  6. Bobby "Boris" Pickett, "Monster Mash". Yes, cliched, but so what?
  7. The Who, "Boris The Spider"
  8. Quasar Wut Wut, "Thankful Hank and the Guzzard". Deliciously mysterious, perfect for the day.
  9. Lou Reed, "Halloween Parade". Yes, of course I know what it's about, but titularly it's appropriate. And of course,
  10. Ministry, "Every Day Is Halloween".

November is NaBloPoMo...

...Which translates to National Blog Post Month. My wife found out about it, and is honoring it with one post for each day of November. Just for grins, I think I might try it, too. Now I want to reset everyone's expectations; I might not be able to crank out my huge album reviews one per day; they might be just smaller posts. And they might not all be music- or movie-related. But I will try my damnedest to post something every day.

Today's music recommendation: Pete Townshend & Ronnie Lane, Rough Mix.
